Acupuncture helps to reduce menopause symptoms


Menopause usually occurs between  the ages of 48 and 55 and the median age in industrialized countries is about 51. The number of menopause woman in society is increasing has a lot to do with the increased number of the hysterectomies preformed.

The primary basis for the progressive decline of reproductive power in woman is in the ovary itself. Emotional stress is an extremely important cause of menopausal problem, building up for year after year before the onset of the menopause. Menopause is not a disease, it is the normal physiological transition in a woman’s life from a reproductive to a non- reproductive age. 

Woman may experience symptoms like headache, tiredness, lethargy, irritability, anxiety, nervousness, depression, insomnia, inability to concentrate,  hot flushes, vaginal dryness and sweating.  The most common symptoms is hot flushes, and 85% of woman suffer from it.

In TCM perspective,  menopause symptoms due to a decline of kidney essence in its yin and yang aspect. Beside that kidney deficiency may combine with some excess pattern such as dampness, stagnation of qi or blood, empty heat or liver yang rising. 


Acupuncture points of tonify kidney yin and yang, clear heat, expel dampness, move the qi & blood is well use to reduce the symptoms.
